PMMM (Purbeck Mineral & Mining Museum)The Purbeck Mining Museum is dedicated to the history and heritage of Purbeck Ball Clay mining and its industrial narrow gauge railways.

Our museum and narrow gauge railway are now closed for the winter and will reopen on 24 March 2023

However the mining museum volunteers will be working at the museum throughout the winter on ‘Volunteer Fridays’, you can follow progress on our Facebook page

Latest News!

The Mining Museum will be open and the Narrow Gauge railway will be running during the Swanage Railway Steam Gala 24 to 26 March 2023.  You’ll find us at Norden from 11:00 – 16:00 on each of those days.

Purbeck Mining Museum will reopen for the 2023 season starting Easter weekend 7 – 10 April 2023.  More news on our full opening schedule for 2023 will be available soon.
