2024 opening times:
Please note we are closed Monday to Friday with the exception of the school half-term holiday week commencing on the Monday 28th October to Friday 1st November.
The last opening day of the museum this year will be Sunday 3rd November 2024. The Museum will remain closed throughout the winter until Spring 2025 – Detailed opening dates and days will be advertised in January.

We plan to run the Narrow Gauge Railway during selected Swanage Railway special event weekends.

Parking is available at the Dorset Council’s Purbeck Park ‘Pay & Display’ car park.
Toilets and baby changing facilities are located in the car park.
Refreshments are available at the kiosk by the Children’s Play area and on Norden Station platform.
We’re committed to making the Purbeck Mining Museum as accessible as we can for everyone. At present, access is not possible to some parts of the site for wheelchair users or pushchairs and buggies. We’ll always try to find a solution to ensure that this doesn’t impact on your enjoyment.
Dogs on a lead are welcome.
We’re next to the fabulous Swanage Railway, so why not make a day of it and enjoy a trip on a steam hauled train.
Arriving by bus
More bus 40 runs between Swanage and Poole. Alight at Norden Farm. Walk towards Norden roundabout, then turn left towards Norden Station.
