Practical information

Parking is available at the Dorset Council’s Purbeck Park ‘Pay & Display’ car park.

Toilets and baby changing facilities are located in the car park.

Refreshments are available at the kiosk by the Children’s Play area and on Norden Station platform.

We’re committed to making the Purbeck Mining Museum as accessible as we can for everyone. At present, access is not possible to some parts of the site for wheelchair users or pushchairs and buggies. We’ll always try to find a solution to ensure that this doesn’t impact on your enjoyment.

Dogs on a lead are welcome.

We’re next to the fabulous Swanage Railway, so why not make a day of it and enjoy a trip on a steam hauled train.

Arriving by bus

More bus 40 runs between Swanage and Poole.  Alight at Norden Farm.  Walk towards Norden roundabout (in the direction of Corfe Castle), then turn left towards Norden Station.

More buses 30 and 35 to and from Swanage stop inside Purbeck Park (“Norden Park and Ride”).  Alight inside the car park then pass through the archway and turn left to reach the museum.
